Health and Safety at Work

Building Management

We undertake independent inspections of workplaces to ensure all building compliance requirements including fire, water, electrical, legionella, working at height, lift equipment etc. are in place and general risks are controlled. Our inspections are comprehensive and include reviews of all statutory documentation and a physical inspection of the workplace.  

Competent External Advice

Not all organisation have or indeed require a qualified health and safety resource. All employers are required to have access to competent health and safety assistance. We can work with your to review your current health and safety arrangements and develop policies and procedures to ensure you compy with your legal obligations. 

Accident/Incident Investigation

Accidents or incidents are never pleasant and, with the upset caused, and potential financial implications, they can lead to liability claims which may have a significant impact upon a business. With significant investigative experience we can assist in investigations to identify accident and incident causes.  We can also provide advice on preventative and pro-active measures to address any areas of risk to your employees, contractors or others affected by the work you do.

Fire Safety

Fire risk assessments are one requirement for those occupying “relevant premises” which are generally non-domestic premises. Whether you are a building owner, landlord or tenant you will require the workplace to have a fire risk assessment. SHG Health and Safety Consultancy Ltd has experience and competence in various aspects of fire safety management including carrying out fire risk assessments in partnership with a BAFE accredited fire consultancy.

Risk Assessments

All employers are required to make a suitable and sufficient assessment of workplace risks. We can assist with all types of risk assessments including generic, specific, CoSHH, DSE, manual handling, new and expectant mothers and others. We can also provide risk assessment training to ensure your employees have the competence to follow the 5 steps to risk assessment processes to enable them to identify hazards and assess and control workplace risks.
